The Kathu Gazette is a tabloid-sized, full-colour weekly community newspaper, with its offices based in Kathu. It has been in operation since July 2006. The number of pages vary from 12 to 20 pages, depending on the number and sizes of advertisements received.
It is a hybrid publication, being sold at R4 a copy in its main centres of distribution and issued for free in the neighbouring villages as well as larger centres some distance away. These include the likes of Upington, Postmasburg, Olifantshoek and Hotazel. There are currently approximately 50 distribution points.
